Week 32: Pinworms

My daughter came home from school with pinworms. Beautiful.

I have actually had pinworms once before, so I ran to the drugstore and grabbed the medication as soon as possible.

She was fine the next day.

A week later, I started becoming symptomatic.

I called the doctor to clear the medication and she called back within the next hour saying that the medication was a category x. Basically saying, if you take this, it will hurt the baby.

So what did I have to do? So I had to start looking up holistic remedies to rid the pinworms. And sadly, because the medication is so effective, there are not A lot of options.

The only consistent holistic remidy that I could find was eating three cloves of garlic every six hours and applying clove oil to the affected area.

Both methods were brutal.

Eating so much garlic not only tasted bad, but I started producing a garlic like body oder. Every time I would work out, the room with snow like a big clove of garlic.

My parents were going crazy! If they could hardly stand the smell anymore.

The clove oil was by far the most painful type of treatment I've ever done. If you know anything about clove oil you know it's one of the hottest at essential oils on the market.  It burns and numb the affected area.  When I went to buy the oil, the employee asked where I was putting the oil because she wanted to warn me about the pain when applying. I looked at her and said "you do not want to know!"
And she was right, it burned so bad I seriously almost started cursing. It was awful. But it did the trick.

My brother is really funny though, he asked me why I was eating soo much  garlic. I just told him I had a parasite that I was trying to get rid of. Pinworms is not something you want to describe to your brother. My brother's advice came from his mission that he served in Argentina. He said he wants had a parasite and the doctor and Argentina told him to drink 3 Lof Coke to rid the parasite. And it worked.

I'll just stick to the garlic. Not sure I really want to drink 3 L of Coke.
