39 Weeks: HE IS HOME!!!!
This week I started contracting a lot. I was starting to wonder if my husband would make it home for the delivery. This looks like it will be her last baby and I really cannot want my husband to miss the birth! However, he took an earlier flight home and surprised me at a restaurant. It was probably one of the best days of my life.
38 Weeks: Alexa
Let me just say this.... I think we would've had some major issues had we been giving birth to a boy as opposed to a girl. Alexa is so excited to have a sister... Especially being sandwiched in between two very active brothers. She loves them both, but I think there is something very special about having a sister. I am so thankful for my sisters! And I'm so glad she gets to experience a similar bond.
Week 37: My oldest son
Braxton has been absolutely adorable this pregnancy. With my other pregnancies, he was a little bit young to understand exactly what was going on. This time around, she has been totally involved. Almost like a stand-in husband while Kory has been gone!
He talks about the pregnancy all the time to his friends, he asks to hear the heartbeat every night, and never misses being able to hug and kiss the baby when he gets a chance.
This pregnancy has been able to introduce me to a totally different side of my son... And I absolutely love it!
Week 34: Hiccup
Little a concerned. My doctor ordered an ultrasound.... Apparently I am measuring small. I have not gained a lot of weight this pregnancy... Only ate the amount of calories recommended for each trimester... But maybe the combo of watching what I was eating and exercise was not giving my little girl enough. Ugh! I am worried. Especially if this an issue I could have prevented.
Week 33: Still sick!
This time around we decided to find out the gender.... But can I just say???? Had we not.... I still would have known we were having a girl. I still wake up sick every morning!

Week 32: Pinworms
My daughter came home from school with pinworms. Beautiful.
I have actually had pinworms once before, so I ran to the drugstore and grabbed the medication as soon as possible.
She was fine the next day.
A week later, I started becoming symptomatic.
I called the doctor to clear the medication and she called back within the next hour saying that the medication was a category x. Basically saying, if you take this, it will hurt the baby.
So what did I have to do? So I had to start looking up holistic remedies to rid the pinworms. And sadly, because the medication is so effective, there are not A lot of options.
The only consistent holistic remidy that I could find was eating three cloves of garlic every six hours and applying clove oil to the affected area.
Both methods were brutal.
Eating so much garlic not only tasted bad, but I started producing a garlic like body oder. Every time I would work out, the room with snow like a big clove of garlic.
My parents were going crazy! If they could hardly stand the smell anymore.
The clove oil was by far the most painful type of treatment I've ever done. If you know anything about clove oil you know it's one of the hottest at essential oils on the market. It burns and numb the affected area. When I went to buy the oil, the employee asked where I was putting the oil because she wanted to warn me about the pain when applying. I looked at her and said "you do not want to know!"
And she was right, it burned so bad I seriously almost started cursing. It was awful. But it did the trick.
My brother is really funny though, he asked me why I was eating soo much garlic. I just told him I had a parasite that I was trying to get rid of. Pinworms is not something you want to describe to your brother. My brother's advice came from his mission that he served in Argentina. He said he wants had a parasite and the doctor and Argentina told him to drink 3 Lof Coke to rid the parasite. And it worked.
I'll just stick to the garlic. Not sure I really want to drink 3 L of Coke.
Week 31: Christmas
My sister gave me the best Christmas gift ever!
I have been living at my parents home and to say their guest bed is uncomfortable is an understatement. It's downright awful.
For Christmas my sister bought me a Tempur-pedic mattress pad. It is been the best sleep I've had in years! I seriously just melted for that mattress pad every single night! I do not wake up until 3 AM when I have to go to the bathroom and then I just fall right back asleep as soon as I return.
My sister is amazing.
Week 30: Few
Although I hope to stay pregnant another 10 weeks, especially sense my husband is coming home for the birth, I do not want to go early!.... I am at that stage of pregnancy where if the baby was born today, she would likely be okay.
It's just kind of a reassuring stage of pregnancy.
Week 29: Stress
When it all comes crashing down.
This week was really hard. Not gonna lie.
I am just hoping the baby will be able to make it through all the stress.
This week the reality of my sons Epilepsey was starting to hit me.
Our dog has cancer again.
Alexa has been extremely emotional.
And I miss my husband.
Week 28: Water
So I have a constipation issue. I've had it for years. Pregnant or not pregnant. My body just does not flow very well.
Until now.
My friend posted an article on Facebook about a woman who drink a gallon of water every single day. She started the challenge to reduce the amount of wribkles she had started noticing. However, she noticed additional but health benefits as she was going to the challenge. One of them being constipation.
Since I have tried every which way to avoid constipation with my diet, I thought why not try this!
Sure enough, just one week of starting the challenge I have not had one constipation issue. I feel great, my skin is amazing, and while I am not trying to lose weight I ended up losing a couple pounds just because I've been getting so full with water.
The only drawback is the amount of times I have to go to the bathroom during the day. But that's a small price to pay for a cure to my constipation issue!
Week 27: Thankful
This week was Thanksgiving and words cannot express how thankful I am for this pregnancy. As I mentioned before, it took me over a year to get pregnant with this little girl. No one really knows why, especially since I had such great fertility with my first three kids.... But, in the end, it made me much more appreciative of pregnancy. In the past, pregnancy with nothing but a Nuisance. I hated being pregnant. And while some of those inconveniences still bother me, I am just so thankful I am actually pregnant! The little stuff does not bother me nearly as much. I am just soo happy to have my little girl growing inside of me.
Week 26: First Kicks
The time is come! I felt her first kick this week. It was such an amazing experience. I've been so worried about her because there is no way I could monitor the pregnancy without having those kick counts. I'm sure I'll start getting annoyed from time to time, especially when she starts practicing her gymnastics at 3 AM. But for right now, I am happy!
Week 25: Maternity Jeans
Maternity jeans and I just did not mesh well! I seriously can never find a pair that fits me well. They are always baggie, I constantly have to pull them up, and they are hardly flattering.
Week 24: I Hope they are Right
So having four kids is not something I have worried about too much. Mainly because most people I talk to said going from 2 to 3 kids is much harder than going from 3 to 4. It didn't make sense at first, but most of them explained adding a fourth child is just like adding another potato to the pot.
But this week I kind of panicked a little when I noticed how busy our schedule is. I have downsized our extracurricular activities, but even with that, we still are all over town. I just hope this little girls adoptable!
With Braxton, he never missed a nap, everything was dictated to his schedule, and he was the benefitficiary of some crazy attention. But this little girl is going to really have to be go with the flow. She will still be getting a lot of attention from me and the other kids... That she better get used to life in the fast lane. Especially with two brothers who have chronic illnesses.
Week 23: Scare
I had quite a scare this week. I started contracting at five minute intervals. I called the doctor in a panic, and she gave me a list of things to do.
Thankfully the contractions stopped and it ended up being just an infection. But it sure scared me!
Week 22: Meet my Placenta
The only abnormality in my ultrasound was the placement of my placenta. Apparently the placenta is not typically located at the front of your uterus. It's not really a complication, just an annoyance.
Because the placenta is located at the front of the uterus, I have not been able to feel the baby kick. Which kind of stinks because I have always been able to feel the baby kick at the stage of pregnancy.
So when people start rubbing my belly (which drives me absolutely crazy)... They will be filling the placenta. Not my little girl.
As I told the doctor, it's just stupid.
