Week 10: Still sick

I gained a lot of weight with Alexa  because while I was soo sick, starchy foods like tacos and potatos were some of the only foods I could hold down.

However, my digestive system cannot take a regular routine of processed foods... So I am left without much to starve off the morning sickness.

While the morning sickness comforts me that my baby is growing strong in my tummy.... I would kill for some relief.

Week 9: Saying Goodbye

I said goodbye to my husband this week. The next time I see him will be when I am close to delivering.

Crazy to think about.

Week 8: Blah!

Ok.. So there has been no "official" test... But I think the little girl I had been dreaming about is sitting comfortably in my uterus right now.

Yes, there is always a chance it could still be a boy, but given the fact that I am sicker than I have ever been with any of my pregnancies AND a strong mothers instinct, I am willing to bet $100 this sucker will be proudly displaying three lines at her first ultrasound.

Over the Moon

Yes. I am pregnant... I am not one for huge announcements (aka facebook)... But yes... I am pregnant.

I loved documenting the last pregnancy, so I thought I would take stab at documenting another.

So here is the story...

Kory and I desperately wanted another baby. Although three kids has been totally ideal, I had a deep feeling another girl was needing to join our mix.

Unfortunately, it just did not happen the way we thought. I never had an issue getting pregnant in the past... In fact, it was something we even laughed about, but this time around...It was much more difficult than we anticipated. Minus the few months I was on a strong medication for a GI issue I was experiencing, we tried for a year to get pregnant without any success. To make the situation worse, I started to display symptoms of endometrosis, which as many of you know, makes conception even more difficult and probably the reason for my infertility. In addition, the symptoms endometrosis consisted of severe bleeding and pain during my cycle... So instead of trying to get pregnant, we were talking about ways to end the fertility stage of my life in its entirety.

I was heartbroken. As I said before, I had a feeling we were suppose to add on another girl, but the stars were just not aligning in the way we had hoped.

That being said, after some time of grief, I decided to move on and live life to the fullest with the three kids I had. And let me just say, I was starting to really like being done with the "baby stage." I depleting our baby gear, getting in a great schedule with more "big kid" activities, and looking forward into starting my masters degree once Fletcher began preschool.

Then this happened.

It took me a few more test for me to actually believe what I was seeing... But nevertheless... THEY ALL CAME BACK POSITIVE!

Its weird... As much as I accepted the fact that the "baby stage" was over for our family... The news never had me mourning for the "baby free life"... I am probably more excited now than I have for any of my pregnancies. Not because my other children were any less meaningful, but after a year of trying and enduring the edometroisis, I knew this was a miracle!

The End

I need to wrap up this blog for the time being....Yes, you heard me right....There could be round 4? Or 5? hahahaha!

So, yes...Almost three months later, I am happy to announce we had a baby BOY on May 30, 2012. We named him Fletcher (my maiden name) Riley (Kory picked that one)

Even though I was overdue, I still managed to deliver without a c section....Something all of us were very worried about. Although, after what I went through with this recovery...I would GLADLY take a c section the next delivery!

Kory was able to come home for Afghanistan for two weeks so he could be here for the birth of our baby boy. Although I was ready to POP, we all enjoyed spending time with Kory before the baby arrived. However, I started to panic when Kory was due back to Afghanistan in four days. I have a history of complicated deliveries and it would have been difficult having him leave soon after the baby was born.

Thankfully, three days before he was scheduled to leave, I went into labor. May 29, 2012 to be exact. I was hoping to have a "drug free" delivery to prevent any complications. After laboring all night, we arrived at the hospital at 7am. Our delivery room was BEAUTIFUL! But it was hard to appreciate being in so much pain.

The doctor checked me and I was a 7. SOO CLOSE! But it was soon to be the longest three hours of my life. I quickly progressed to 9 1/2 cm, but I was really stuck. Our baby boy was sunny side up. Hence why I was in soo much pain. Doctors and nurses had to get me in all different positions to finally get the baby out. Thankfully, he came out and FLETCHER made his first debut! We are so blessed!

38/39 weeks: Check

OK....
1. Pedi: Check (My only sense of dignity while admitted to labor and delivery)
2. Wax: Check (Last go around I did not have the opportunity to get this done and I was sooo embarrassed when I walked into the hospital. I vowed to never let that happen again. But, wow...My skin is bruised! Pregnancy must make the skin more sensitive.)
3. Baby Clothes Washed and Laundered: Check
4. Diapers: Check....Finally!
5. Hospital Bag: Not yet...But, I am in the process. My good friend did get me started.
6. Husband: CHECK! He is ready to go!

BUT....

NO BABY!

Castor oil is the only thing I will not do. I was thinking about it....But, my OB said there was a link with mothers who take castor oil for induction and babies having their first bowl movements in the womb...So is not worth the risk for me. Braxton had some respiratory issues when he was born because of the meconium and I would feel awful if that happened again and knew I may have had something to do with it.

I am all about waiting for the baby to come on its own......But, this go around, I am going to get a little antsi if the baby does not come by Monday. I need to have this baby on time. Any other pregnancy I could careless how late the baby was....But this pregnancy is totally different. I am under a huge time crunch.

The doctor stripped my membrane....But we're holding off on the induction because I am hardly effaced....So an induction on Thursday would be setting me up for failure....And I must avoid a C Section at all cost.

May I add....I WILL NEVER HAVE MY MEMBRANE STRIPPED AGAIN!!!!!! ITS SOOO NOT WORTH IT! The procedure obviously did not work and I feel like a sword was circled around in my vag. I am still in pain.

As for every other method of self induction.....Lets just say, I am still preggo, so enough said.

Everyone is suffering in my house.

1. My poor husband is getting raped three times a day.
2. My dog is so tired of walks that he runs when I get the leash.
3. My kids are tired of me using the bounce ball as my new chair.
4. My nipples cannot stand anymore stimulation.
5. My body is not handling the spicy food.
6. I have whipped out all the pineapple in produce section.

So, I have just come to the realization that the baby will not come until its ready....With or without my husband. Poor guy.

37 Weeks: TWO MORE WEEKS!

Although I am due on the 24th, I just need to hang on for two more weeks!!!!!!! And then this baby can come whenever! SO PRAY FOR TWO MORE WEEKS!!!!!!! I cannot have another early surprise! Nor do I want one. I have no idea why women want their babies out early.

I asked my midwife this week if she had any thoughts on how NOT to go into labor and she said, "well....just take it easy....No lifting....No chasing kids....Just prop up your feel and relax.

Seriously? Ok, I have being seeing you since the start of my pregnancy....And you know my situation....Do you really think that is going to happen....And to be honest.....ANY MOM would have issues with that criterea. What mom sits around all day?

I just laughed. But seriously....PRAY!!!!
